How Sweden's Election Changed the Map


Sweden's national public television broadcaster Sveriges Television has created an interesting data visualization of the votes cast in this week's Swedish election. It has mapped the overall winner in each election constituency to show where each political party won the most votes.

Swedish Election Maps


Despite some nearly hysterical reporting on the Swedish Election (outside of Sweden) the far-right Sweden Democrats party failed to pick-up much support in yesterday's national election. The party achieved around 17.6% of the vote, far short of the 25% that many were predicting. The governing Social Democrats were the leading party with 28.4% of the vote.
