Clothes are expensive these days?

Pann: Aren't clothes really expensive these days?

1. [+188, -2] These days, online shopping sites are not that cheap, either. Same clothing is priced differently on different sites...

2. [+171, -1] Domestic brands are also low quality but they're priced at a premium. The shoes aren't even worth $5. It pisses me off that clothes are $20~30.

3. [+159, -7] Agreed. But there are people who look down on non-brand clothes.

4. [+78, -1] Spa brands like Spao and Who.A.U do a lot of sales and you can get their clothes for $10ish but designer brands are way too much. Their prices on sale are more than $30, but they confidently call it "amazing price".

5. [+73, -0] Seriously. Brand hoodies start from $70. It's too pricey.

6. [+72, -0] Agreed. I used to think online shopping sites are cheap but they became expensive, too.

7. [+67, -0] We're not just talking about the price but when I wash the clothes, they shrink. The clothes are expensive despite its low quality.

8. [+47, -0] Seriously, why are they so expensive? Winter clothes are thick and expensive, two winter clothes cost me $100.

9. [+41, -0] They cost less than $10 at the factory price, I don't understand why they're selling it for $50~60. My favorite brands all have $90 hoodies, so I always have to buy them with clearance coupons. I want to buy new styles, too! If the original price is $10, then it should be priced $30~40 at max.

10. [+40, -0] Muji hoodies start from $15, it's too much.

Instiz: Employment rates of university majors

- Let me cry as a law major

- Don't choose your major based on the employment rate, you'll regret it

- Should've majored in natural sciences...

- My major isn't ocean engineering but it's ocean studies! We have diving classes in our school pool and we also have school trips to Jeju-island and East Sea. It's really nice!

- Don't major in fashion design. I graduated and my current job has nothing to do with my major.

KakaoTalk to finally implement 'delete sent message' feature

Article: "Oops, I sent it by mistake..." KakaoTalk to implement 'delete sent message' feature

Source: Yeonhap via Nate

1. [+3457, -30] This is a feature that was really needed ㅠㅠ

2. [+3030, -31] We really need this feature.

3. [+2919, -32] It's good to have a delete feature.

4. [+235, -2] It's useless if the person already read my message in a pop-up notification.

5. [+196, -4] But a lot of people leave the messages unread on purpose ㅋㅋ Don't a lot of people read the messages in notifications? It would be funny if the person already read my message in a notification but it turns out to be deleted later.

6. [+182, -4] Can they also stop the feature where people can add me as a friend as long as they have my phone number? They need to implement a friend request feature.

7. [+160, -2] What's more needed is a feature that doesn't let non-friends see my profile.

8. [+141, -6] Can they also make a feature to delete a friend? We can only hide or block a friend, it's ambiguous.

9. [+121, -1] Katalk needs to step up. Other messangers already have a delete feature, temporary-photo picture, translator feature, and etc. Katalk only has useless features since they're busy selling their emoticons.

10. [+112, -0] Please make an invitation request feature when I get added to a group chat!

Korean fashion in the 70's

Pann: Korean fashion in the 70's

1. [+120, -2] The outfits in this picture are so pretty...

2. [+89, -1] They wore short skirts a lot? I expected the 70's to be conservative.

3. [+59, -0] Unlike I thought, they don't look outdated.

4. [+44, -5] What's irony is that women at the time wore those short skirts to fight against the conservative prejudice and to win their rights but the feminists of Megal and Womad are jealous of pretty girls and bash them for dressing up because they themselves have a hopeless face and a body.

5. [+35, -0] I thought this was Son Heung Min.

6. [+24, -1] Trends circulate.

7. [+23, -0] This looks like fierce unnies in the 70's.

8. [+21, -0] The fashion was better at that time. Beggar looks are a trend nowadays so even the celebrities dress like this.

9. [+20, -0] This looks modern. I guess trends do circulate.

10. [+18, -0] This was in the late-80's. Doesn't the hairstyle looks modern, too?

Soft tennis player wins gold medal at Asian Games 20 days before enlistment

Article: There's a player who won a gold medal just 20 days before enlistment

Source: JoongAng Ilbo via Nate

(Soft tennis is not a category in the Olympics, so winning a gold medal at the Asian Games is the only chance for military service exemption. It's also not included in Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps, which means that the players have to service in the regular unit. Therefore, enlistment means retirement for minor sports players. Kim Jin Woong already had a draft notice to enlist on the 18th, but he won a gold medal and is exempt. When the match was over, he collapsed on the court from the leg pain.)

1. [+2155, -38] Only the people like him should be exempt from the military service.

2. [+1950, -18] Seeing the tapes on his legs, I can tell how hard he played ㅠㅠ Good work! ^^

3. [+1704, -18] Leg taping... I've injured my knees and ankles so I know how painful every step is, it's so touching... Congrats on winning a gold medal!

4. [+43, -2] Can people not judge his face? You only have to congratulate on his gold medal.

5. [+41, -1] Hardwork doesn't betray you. Congratulations ^^

6. [+20, -1] Hul, I thought he was in his 50's when I saw the picture. He's 28?

Athletes are not a boyfriend material?

Pann: Is it really not ideal to date an athlete?

1. [+424, -31] Athletes with a warm heart like Ki Sung Yong and Park Ji Sung are rare ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Most athletes are short-tempered because they have to be able to use their energy at once. I've barely seen athletes who are good to women. Even in foreign countries, you hear a lot of violence news from celebrity & athlete couples.

2. [+358, -8] They have a lot of women around them and they think they're the best.

3. [+356, -2] Athlete Kwak Yoon Gi said ignoring the woman with the excuse of being busy with the sport is wrong and that there's a plenty of time to contact ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Even a national athlete says this. Non-national athletes who don't bother to contact their girlfriends because "they don't have time" are just trash.

4. [+172, -3] Yes fuck. I'm dating a soccer player right now and I can't even call him. I held his hand once in school. During the 70 days of dating, I couldn't contact him for 2 full weeks and I haven't even seen him for a month.

5. [+158, -0] They're used to the military-like culture so they're strict and pretentious.

6. [+130, -1] They talk about sleeping with their girlfriends in their dorm.

7. [+114, -1] For athletes, one of the most important hormones is testosterone. It's very important for growing muscles and enhancing physical performance. That's why injecting or consuming testosterone is illegal. Athletes have much higher testosterone rates compared to non-athletes. Testosterone makes you more competitive and numb to pain and fear. It also increases aggressiveness and sexual urges. So the majority of athletes are much more macho-like than non-athletes. On the other hand, their muscular bodies make them physically strong and sexually attractive. If you like that, then you can date them. If you want a man who's sweet, then it'll be hard to find one who's an athlete.

8. [+104, -6] I've been dating an athlete for a year. He has serious mood swings, he's competitive, and he has high self-esteem. It's hard sometimes. He has a lot of women around him but he's clear with "my woman" vs "other women" and he's disgusted with the idea of cheating. He also has a strong sense of possession... And a lot of athletes also have a naive personality because all they did was exercise in their whole life.

9. [+73, -1] They're only good in bed ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I know some people who dated athletes and all of them ended dirtily. They either caught cheating or got contacted by other girlfriends ㅋㅋㅋ

10. [+66, -3] Baseball and soccer players are serious trash.

Article: Foreign tourists in Seoul stayed for 5~6 days, shopped at Myungdong, and enjoyed a food tour

Source: Yeonhap via Nate

1. [+240, -0] Myungdong became Chinatown already.

2. [+236, -12] You think Myungdong has hopes when Koreans turned their backs on them? The store owners have to be responsible since they're the ones who became greedy and turned the place into China. They should be banning Chinese signs in Myungdong. Change Myungdong back to Korea.

3. [+197, -3] Is it true that Myungdong discriminates Koreans more than the US do?

4. [+20, -0] Honestly, there's no good restaurant in Myungdong.

5. [+11, -0] They came to travel but all they do is shopping.

Korea is #4 country that imports EU beer the most

Article: There's a lot of European beer around... Turns out that Korea is the 4th country that imports EU beer the most

Source: Yeonhap via Naver

Ranking of countries that import EU beer the most
1) USA
2) China
3) Canada
4) Korea
5) Russia
6) Switzerland
7) Australia
8) Taiwan

-

1. [+1507, -115] The size of Korea isn't even comparable to USA, China, and Canada but we're #4. It's because Korean beer sucks.

2. [+779, -84] Korean beer sucks because there's no competition. European beer tastes good. But let's not drink the Chinese beer Tsingtao!

3. [+265, -45] It's because Korean beer tastes like urine.

4. [+179, -23] Why does domestic beer suck so much?

5. [+182, -37] This small country is full of drinkers, huh?

-

Source: Nate

1. [+335, -18] It's better than domestic beer.

2. [+310, -13] European beer tastes good, indeed...

3. [+246, -10] The quality is too different from domestic beer. We can't help it.

4. [+14, -2] Honestly, the Japanese beer Asahi isn't good...

5. [+11, -2] German beer is just amazing.

Blood Moon lunar eclipse & Mars' approach to occur at dawn

Article: 'Blood Moon' and Mars' approach... 'space show' at dawn of 28th

Source: JTBC via Naver

1. [+959, -20] The Moon is huge and bright. It's gonna be quite of a scene.

2. [+966, -61] I'm going to bed. Make sure to take good pictures and upload them.

3. [+472, -54] Journalists, please take pretty pictures of it instead of doing useless stuff.

4. [+395, -53] Wow, what a scene! A gift from god.

5. [+55, -5] Interesting... I predict this is going to be Question #20 on Earth Science for college entrance exams.

6. [+44, -5] So interesting. Humans are nothing to the mystery of the nature.

7. [+39, -6] Ah I'm going to cry ㅠㅠ I'll finally get to see my hometown from the Earth. I want to go back for this Chuseok but I haven't fixed my spaceship yet ㅠㅠ

8. [+25, -2] The space show aside, it's so fucking hot.

3rd rank of Miss Korea throws the first pitch at a baseball game

Article: 3rd rank of Miss Korea Lee Yoon Ji, "Is my first pitch pretty, too?"

Source: My Daily via Nate

1. [+665, -24] For Miss Korea, 2nd rank and 3rd rank are always prettier than the 1st rank ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+548, -15] She's prettier...

3. [+440, -34] Miss Korea isn't evaluated by face alone. The 3rd rank mostly requires a pretty face, so the 3rd rank is the prettiest contestant. The 2nd rank requires a pretty face and good education background. The 1st rank has to participate in Miss Universe so it requires a tall height, good education background (preferably studied overseas), good family background, interview skills, and foreign language skills. In other words, the 1st rank requires various skills. The reason why Lee Honey was the 1st rank was because of that. At that time, people agreed that the 2nd rank was prettier and Lee Honey didn't get good responses. It wasn't that Lee Honey was the prettiest, but she is a Seoul National University graduate, she has good family background, she's tall, and she was good with interviews. That's why she was the 1st rank. So usually, the 2nd and 3rd ranks will be prettier than the 1st rank. I heard this from a judge of Miss Korea.

4. [+19, -3] Her skin is no joke... Her white thighs are jjang.

5. [+19, -7] Better than the 1st rank ㅋㅋ

6. [+18, -2] Honestly, she's better than the 1st rank ㅋㅋ

7. [+15, -0] She's so pretty, though?

8. [+12, -2] The 1st rank of Miss Korea is the weirdest. Rather than the fact that she's Miss Korea, I don't understand how she even passed the preliminaries.

Hawaii bans sunscreen at beaches to protect coral reefs

Article: Sunscreen banned at Hawaiian beaches... "to protect marine organisms"

Source: Yeonhap via Naver

1. [+1043, -48] How bad is sunscreen that they're even banning it to protect the coral reefs! We should learn from their mindset to protect the nature.

2. [+670, -21] I went to Hawaii and learned why they were an advanced country... They had strict restrictions to protect the nature. Shouldn't we learn from that?

3. [+266, -13] Regardless of the inconvenience, it's something that must be done to consider the future. I hope this gets enforced in Korea as well.

4. [+151, -13] Yeah, people should control their skin exposure on their own. That's the right thing to do.

5. [+136, -13] Sunscreen kills coral reefs and marine organisms, it's a good law.

6. [+54, -5] The article title is too provocative. To be specific, they're banning sunscreen that has a chemical that damages coral reefs. Many sunscreens don't contain the toxic chemical and you can choose to buy sunscreen that has coral-protection.

7. [+40, -0] People should cover up their bodies with clothes and wear a hat.

8. [+26, -0] Jeju needs to strengthen their laws to protect the nature, too.

9. [+26, -1] The US is trying hard like this but India and China are turning the seas and rivers into trashes. They don't even have sewage facilities and don't bother controlling their populations.

10. [+19, -2] Why don't the US do proper recycling, though...

British artist writes "shibal" on his artwork due to Google Translate mistake

Artwork of hermit crab by British artist Gareth Davies. The artwork has 씨발 ("shibal" - fuck) written on it.

He explains that he used Google Translate

It turns out that not putting a space between Mr. Crab changes the translation of the word.

-

Article: The reason why a British artist wrote 'shibal' on an artwork

Source: JoongAng Ilbo via Nate

1. [+990, -4] He should leave it, that's a great artwork ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+787, -5] I burst into laughter ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+637, -43] Google Translate is really bad. It can't even translate short and simple sentences.

4. [+34, -1] He doesn't know the meaning of the word, he drew the hangul.

5. [+32, -0] So funny how the word translates like that ㅋㅋㅋㅋ That's cute. I want the artwork.

6. [+28, -0] It looks edgy, though? ㅋㅋ

7. [+23, -1] Funny mistake

8. [+21, -0] Unexpected masterpiece

9. [+18, -0] If the translator worked properly and he wrote 'hermit crab' in hangul, the artwork would've looked boring. Because of the translation mistake, the artwork looks amazing ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

10. [+16, -0] Google shibal...
